Social games for Meta Horizon
We build social worlds for Meta Horizon that work for headset and mobile audiences at the same time, rather than only for people who already own a headset.
What Meta Horizon is, and who it reaches
How a Horizon world is made
Meta Horizon is Meta’s platform for user-created social worlds. Worlds are built with Meta’s own creation tools and reached through the Horizon app on Meta Quest headsets and on mobile, so an experience does not have to be limited to headset owners.
How players actually find it
Discovery runs through Horizon’s in-app surfaces and search, and through social presence — Horizon is built around being somewhere with other people. Worlds that give a group something to do together hold attention far longer than worlds built for solo browsing.
Three ways we build on Horizon
( _01 )
Social worlds
A social destination built around shared activity, designed so arriving with friends is better than arriving alone.
( _02 )
Events and live moments
Hosted, time-bound moments inside a world — screenings, launches, performances — where presence is the point.
( _03 )
Cross-device experiences
Worlds designed for headset and mobile together, so audience size is not capped by hardware ownership.

Do visitors need a VR headset?
Not necessarily. Meta Horizon is reachable on Meta Quest headsets and through mobile, so a world can be designed to work for both rather than only for headset owners. Which devices to target is a decision we take at the brief stage, because it changes the design.
What is a Horizon world built with?
Worlds are created using Meta’s own Horizon creation tools, which cover the world building, scripting and publishing to the Horizon platform.
What kind of experience suits Horizon best?
Anything that is better with other people in the room. Horizon is a social platform first, so worlds built around shared activity — co-operative play, hosted events, things worth showing a friend — tend to outperform worlds built for browsing alone.
Can a Horizon world be updated after launch?
Yes. Worlds can be revised and extended after publishing, so a launch is best treated as the start of a programming schedule rather than a finished delivery.
